MASTER DR. JAMES LANGLAS 1951-2018

VIII Dan UTF CO-PRESIDENT

 Ph.D in English


Earned 8th Dan in 2012


Earned 7th Dan in 2003.


1996 Appointed along with Mr. Paul Irvin as leaders of the UTF by Grandmaster Han Cha Kyo Promoted to 6th Dan and received Master status. Dr. Langlas received this promotion in a ceremony performed by Grandmaster Nam Tae Hi in 1996.


Master Langlas owned and operated a UTF affiliated TKD school since 1980 in the western suburbs of Chicago. He taught nearly 250 students to the rank of black belt


Founder and Executive Director of Pathways for Achievement, a not-for-profit organization aimed as helping at-risk teenagers learn Taekwon-Do, get tutoring help with their schoolwork, and perform community service. (This is a UTF sanctioned organization.) Pathway programs are taught by volunteer adults and basic funding is provided by private donors, small businesses and corporations.
